IDEA Space Director To Deliver K-State Keynote Address
Cassie Banka '05, Director of the Dan & Cassidy Towriss IDEA Space KC, will deliver the keynote address at a Kansas State University STEAM symposium on Thursday, Oct. 9.
Mrs. Banka is the featured speaker in the Robert & Liz Rea STEAM Speaker series, presented by the K-State College of Education. A K-State alumna and passionate STEAM educator, she will speak to undergraduate and graduate students about embracing curiosity, building connections and fostering lifelong learning. Throughout her career, from middle school math teacher to engineering instructor and IDEA Space director, Mrs. Banka has focused on the importance of taking risks and saying “yes” to new opportunities.
With more than 15 years of experience in education, Mrs. Banka has guided students through hands-on STEAM projects and competitions at the local and national level, helping them develop problem-solving, teamwork and creative thinking skills. Under her leadership, students have designed innovative projects, participated in national challenges and gained experiences that have inspired them to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, arts and math.
