Startland EDU's MECA Methods has selected IDEA Space to host its final session in a three-day citywide training for professionals on on Friday, April 14. Educators will immerse themselves in the design thinking process, expand their networks and design experiences for their students.
MECA stands for "Most Entrepreneurial City in America," so utilizing Kansas City's most innovative STEAM education center is a perfect fit.
At MECA Methods, educators will have the opportunity to:
experience each step in the design thinking process through a design challenge that allows them to recognize barriers students may face.
understand design thinking as it applies to the classroom and walk away with a concept to implement in the classroom.
build a network of support with other Real World Learning educators across Kansas City.
Last fall, Startland EDU and Career Education Consortium hosted the MECA Challenge for high school students at IDEA Space.
